It's actually the space between the eye that is the best indicator of what size feeder to order.
Here is a photo that explains why your food should be no wider than the width of a dragon's eyes, as you can see there is a lot of 'cheek' on either side of the dragon's throat:
Here are the Phoenix Worms® sizes and counts per cup:
Small - 0.25" (about 6mm) - 150 per cup
Medium - 0.3 to 0.4" (about 8mm) - 100 per cup
Large - 0.5 to 0.75" (about 15mm) - 100 per cup
Phoenix worms will elongate out up to 75% when walking than when compacted inside the tub.
Small size is for very small animals: Finches, skinks, carnivorous plants, dart frogs; baby turtles, chameleons, geckos, and water turtles. Tropical fish that eat floating food will benefit from the calcium and protein these offer.
The medium size is the size preferred by many herps: Small bearded dragons, skinks, small chameleons, anoles, turtles; young Leopard, Gargoyle, Crested, and Leaf Tail Geckos. This is also a good size for larger tropical fish.
Large size is the right size for larger pets. Bearded dragons, large geckos, monitors, and veiled chameleons are all huge fans of large Phoenix Worms.
