We contract with a veterinary laboratory that sends us stool collection kits for reptiles:
Fecal Parasite Test for Reptiles
We ship you the kit for you to send the specimen directly to the laboratory.
Collect 1-2 teaspoons of stool sample and mail it in the envelope. They will perform an analysis of the sample within 24 hours of receiving it and email you the results.
The test will determine:
* If worms are present (only 30% are negative historically)
* Which specific worms are present
* What over-the-counter wormer is best to use
* If there is a resistance problem
* If any previous dewormer has worked
This laboratory is run by a veterinarian and focuses only on fecal parasitism.
We started offering these kits because there are people on Facebook, etc. with microscopes that are not veterinarians who are making diagnoses illegally and with no formal education. For the better health of our customers and their pets, we want to ensure that they have better options available at a low price.
PS: If your stool sample contains worms, please separate worms from the stool and place them in a small bag with 6 drops of water and 6 drops of alcohol. Mark the bag "WORMS INSIDE". You can also send photos to the veterinarian by emailing them to drstevenhadaway@comcast.net
