Redworms sold in stores are for fishing or composting are very tiny, about as skinny as a pencil lead.
We sell Eisenia hortensis the European Nightcrawler. These are thicker, about as wide as a large mealworm is. You can cut them in half for feeding smaller animals.
If they perished in the past just remember to:
- Keep them moist, earthworms breathe through their skin
- Avoid sunlight at all costs
- Use either aged tap water or bottled water to dampen the bedding
- Remove bedding gently with fingers before offering as food
