We don't use any chemicals or hormones in growing our insects at all, in fact, we know many people actually eat them! And so we are extremely careful in what we feed them. They are only fed wheat bran we purchase from a local mill that supplies bakeries and carrots that we purchase the seconds (they are crooked or have a crack in them) that would otherwise be sold in grocery stores.
We pay extra for human-grade feed and carrots, but we are so careful in protecting not only our colony but the pets and people that eat our worms as well.
Your insects are pulled from the growing racks that we use for our future generations and will readily pupate and breed for you.
We are proud to be an all- natural farm and especially love answering this question!
