Mealworms have 20% protein which can be calcium depleting for both adults and nestlings.
You can add calcium carbonate (readily available online and very inexpensive) by dusting mealworms both dried and live with it. We like putting it in a spice jar with holes in the lid and dusting it on dried mealworms before feeding to birds. If you have a mason jar, you can also add them and shake to coat.

For live mealworms, we also recommend putting a cuttlebone in with your live mealworms, they will eat the bone which is primarily composed of calcium carbonate.
