We are so happy to hear you are raising your own! We love supporting people who want to feed their chickens home-grown nutritious insects.
The cleaner-crew organisms will only eat decaying or dead material in your bins. So, for example, if you have rotting vegetation or dead insects (a natural occurrence), the cleaner crew will eat these for you so your colonies will not have the bacterial or fungal growth that they may cause. Your colonies will also smell better and not attract rodents and flies as readily - a huge plus!
What they will not do, I'm afraid, is eat the frass or poop from your worms and crickets. That will still need to be sifted out regularly when it becomes deep in the bottom of your bins.
