Waxworms can spin silk cocoons or nests to hang out in when they are happy, healthy, and well-fed. So, kudos to you for keeping your waxworms in such wonderful condition!
You can manually remove them from their silk, but they will start to spin more shortly after being removed.
Alternatively, you can collect them when they are the desired size and store them in your fridge door. The cold will hold them in a state of dormancy until they are brought back out into room temperature and they will be able to be used for a few weeks.
