I am so sorry to hear that your Hornworms grew too much in transit!
Luckily, Hornworms are a thin-skinned insect that is filled with jelly, so they can be fed without the "size between the eyes on the top of the head" rule. You can cut them in half, or feed them vertically and help your little one to make defined bites.
Hornworms will double in size when they are kept in the warmth. You can place them in your fridge door to keep them cool so that they will become sluggish and not grow as rapidly.
