If your substrate dries out completely it wouldn't be recommended.
You can offer lots of hiding places (leaf litter, bark, etc) that are soaked or sprayed frequently to keep them moist as well as offering chunks of moist food (we like Repashy Morning Wood) to help keep them hydrated and the enclosure humid.
