We will pack counts up to 1000 either in a cup with bran by default. If you prefer, we can pack them in a mesh bag with no bran based on your preference. When we package them in a cup with wheat bran (their food), the customer will have food for them when they arrive, and will also insulate them in the summer heat and cold weather as well. If we pack them in a mesh bag, they will have strips of soy newspaper to give them not only padding during the journey, but they can nibble on it if they get hungry. They can be shaken out of the bag into a [container for storage](https://www.rainbowmealworms.net/care...) either in the fridge or at room temperature with food and a water source. If you have a preference, just let us know in the instruction field during checkout. If you'd like to also email me back here after you place your order, I'll manually print your order out to ensure it is packed to your specification.
We have found in 58 years of shipping our worms that when we ship 1000 or greater, they travel the very best if we ship them in shredded newspaper. They can move inward to keep warm or migrate to the outside to keep cool. The newspaper is held inside a cotton bag that helps wick any moisture they create outside so they don't get exposed to mold or bacteria along the journey. When worms travel with bedding (or food) they will eat it increasing their metabolism causing them to increase in temperature, defecate, and the warmth will cause overheating in warm weather and condensation in cold weather. Both are very bad for the health of your worms. We also sell our bedding on our website if you would like us to package it in the box in a separate container from your worms.
