Roaches in the wild can spread a vast range of diseases, including not only salmonella but campylobacteriosis, giardiasis, as well!
Salmonella is accumulated in the gut of roaches when they eat contaminated food; it can remain in their gut for 3 to 4 weeks. They will vomit and defecate on food, providing the opportunity to infect other roaches and people.
We only feed Repashy Bug Burger that is boiled and cooled before feeding for their sole food and water source. It's fed in small quantities so that it is entirely eaten and replaced daily.
We realize that our roaches are going to be used to feed the reptiles, chickens, and birds of the nation - but people choose to eat them too! Because of that, we are completely fastidious in our husbandry.
