Here are our recommendations for adding cleaner crew to your reptile's enclosure:
- It's okay if your animals eat the cleaner crew. They are not harmful at all. In a reptile enclosure, you don't want an overabundance of them, but they will eat any dead/decaying matter in your substrate keeping your enclosures bioactive and smelling fresher (they will not eat large volumes of animal xxxx , unfortunately).
- Many insects like Dubia and Superworms will migrate out of the food dish and burrow to the bottom or back of an enclosure defecating and then dying there. The Dermestid will find them and kindly eat them.
- The smallest amount we sell is 50 count, but they are a natural inhabitant of most environments and after picking out 10 or so you can safely dispose of the rest outside. They will find detritus in the garden to eat.
- If you are keeping colonies of roaches or worms at room temperature, the remaining cleaner crew can be added to them. They'll eat any decaying material including both vegetation and any dead worms as well while not eating live worms, roaches, or crickets for you!
As you know we are an all-natural company and we swear by using these little creatures to keep everything tidy and clean on our farm. We can avoid using chemicals on our worms by having them do the cleaning and pest control for us!
