Cleaner crew are used for eating dead, dying, or decomposing material. When there isn't an abundance they will turn to other items in search of a water source.
Because BSFL live in an organic, inedible media there should be very little decomposing matter in their cup. BSFL have an empty gut to prevent them from turning into flies before you use them as feeders (though the flies are readily enjoyed by most reptiles).
You wouldn't really have a need for cleaner crew with BSFL, and adding cleaner crew may damage them as they go hungry and in search of a water source.
