Silkworms and their food are incredibly susceptible to bacterial and/or mold growth due to their very soft skin and high moisture content.
When it gets very humid in the container, any of these germs on your hands (or those still in the container) will be able to grow rapidly killing your silkworms.
As a precaution, we recommend using a strong hand sanitizer as well as sanitizing the containers first to protect your silkworms.
