Yes, only the product with D3 contains cholecalciferol. The one without D3 is pure calcium carbonate.
We love it because it contains no phosphorus and isn't made from oyster shells (which can contain impurities and taste bad).
Because of that, it doesn't have a bad flavor, and so it's more widely accepted by reptiles when sprinkled lightly on their food.
Even leopard geckos will lick it when left in a small container (like a milk cap) to meet their calcium needs.
