We sell Phoenix Worms that are the trademarked brand of Black soldier flies.
Phoenix Worms® are the absolute gold standard of feeders. They are naturally high in calcium so that when you are feeding them you don't need to dust your pet's food at all. These are the comparisons of calcium in different feeders: **Phoenix Worm 8155 ppm Cricket 345 ppm Superworm 124 ppm Mealworm 133 ppm** Our Phoenix Worms® are Black Soldier Fly larvae (Hermetia illucens). We currently only carry the trademarked brand grown in Georgia by Dr. Craig Sheppard, as other growers raise theirs in biopods, are fed kitchen scraps and are then shipped in soil. Dr. Sheppard is the entomologist at the University of Georgia. The trademarked media they are packed in is organic and isn't harmful to vertebrates that might ingest it. We worry that the soil other Soldier Fly larvae are grown in soil might harbor pathological organisms as well as the bacterial and fungal accompaniment of the decaying media in a biopod.
