This page is for live mealworms that are grown right here in Southern California.
You (and your animals) are in for a very special treat if you've been feeding dried ones! Not only are live mealworms more nutritious with all their vitamins and fatty acids, but your animals will quite enjoy the feel of a live insect to chase and eat.
When comparing weights of dried vs. live mealworms, the live will be far heavier than the dried but volume is actually more important since it's the wet volume that carries the most nutrition and is most filling.
For our large-sized mealworms, if you have an 8 oz container for comparison it would take 1000 to fill it up completely.
