We can pack up to 100 Superworms in a cup, but in warm weather 100 can be too many.
Superworms are our most lively feeder, and because of that they generate a LOT of heat and do not tolerate being in cramped conditions.
We have found in 58 years of shipping our worms that they travel the very best if we ship them in shredded newspaper. They can move inward to keep warm or migrate to the outside to keep cool. The newspaper is held inside a cotton bag that helps wick any moisture they create outside so they don't get exposed to mold or bacteria along the journey. When worms travel with bedding (or food) they will eat it increasing their metabolism causing them to increase in temperature, defecate, and the warmth will cause overheating in warm weather and condensation in cold weather. Both are very bad for the health of your worms. We also sell our bedding on our website if you would like us to package it in the box in a separate container from your worms. Thank you so much for your question! Please remember to ask us to hold them for pickup if your temperatures are below 55 or above 85° two to three days from when you order for 100% guaranteed live delivery.
