Our Red Runner roaches measure between 0.75 to 1" long, though we try to choose the largest in the range when packing them for you.
They will live at 60°F for a short while, but not thrive. They are native to the Middle East (are non-native to the United States) but have populations in the Southwest in the hottest states. Incidentally, they are thought to have been brought back by soldiers returning from the Middle East in the 80s.
Because of this, they prefer it really warm! If you are keeping them for longer than a week, we suggest using either an under-tank heater or ceramic radiant heater to keep them from being too chilly.
