First, we are sorry we didn't get your order this time!! Secondly, we love to help and talk bugs!
It is very uncommon for Dubia to die off; being roaches they are very hardy! Let's see if we can figure out what has happened, we will very gladly help you get to the bottom of it. First, Dubia roaches must be kept at room temperature. Any colder than 50° or hotter than 90° and they will rapidly start to die. Die-offs in your colony must be addressed right away, once they start it is the sign of a serious problem that must be addressed. The most common cause of roach die-off is food related. Not enough food or water will lead to dehydration and eventually death. Alternately, food that is left in their container and releasing water as it decays will lead to bacterial and fungal growth. They must have a water source, we use Repashy Bug Burger as it is an all-in-one food and water source that will harden as it dries rather than release water. Water crystals or a damp sponge will also suffice. If they are only fed a protein source such as dog food, they will rapidly dehydrate and die. They must have water! If your temperatures, food, and water source seem to be correct then it might be a temperature problem in the area they are stored in. Be sure they are not stored in direct sunlight and are kept in an area that is between 50° and 80° with adequate ventilation. Did you transfer them to another container after arrival? Be sure your container has no glue, residual soap, or other chemicals in it that may be causing the problem. Would you like to send a photo for us to review? We can often asses the cause by looking at your setup. Please text us the photo at (480) 409-2347
